PCH Reopens to Residents, Essential Businesses and School Buses; Other Roads Fully Reopen

Caltrans has expanded access of PCH [ https://dot.ca.gov/caltrans-near-me/district-7/district-7-news/d7-pch-access-expanded?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term= ] to Palisades and Malibu residents, essential businesses and school bus traffic Thursday. Residents, school bus traffic, essential business owners and workers will be allowed to access PCH. PCH remains closed to general traffic, and only essential travel is recommended.

Also, Los Angeles County announced that four County-maintained roads fully reopened Thursday, restoring critical connectivity for the County unincorporated community of Topanga Canyon. The reopening of Piuma Road, Rambla Pacifico Street, Schueren Road, and Saddle Peak Road will provide viable alternative routes for residents and commuters while Tuna Canyon Road remains closed.

Los Angeles County Public Works has received nearly 9,000 Right of Entry (ROE) forms from property owners affected by the Palisades and Eaton fires. *For those who opt-out:* Property owners who choose to hire private contractors for fire debris removal can now receive a permit that allows home and business owners and their authorized private contractors to manage their own debris removal efforts while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental standards.
